In brief
32-bit apps and games accounted for less than 1% of App Store revenue in Q2 2017. iOS 11 made nearly 200,000 of them incompatible, while many users had stopped downloading and buying 32-bit apps and developers had updated their offerings.
The newly announced iPhone models all run iOS11. The new operating system brings a new interface and many new features, but iOS 11 also makes nearly 200,000 32-bit apps and games incompatible with the new system.
A research firm recently published a report on the App Store, stating that in the second quarter of 2017, which had just ended, App Store revenue from 32-bit apps and games accounted for less than 1% of its total revenue. This shows that many users have already stopped downloading and buying 32-bit apps, while developers have also updated their apps and games.
In 2013, Apple introduced a 64-bit architecture, and in 2015 it began requiring all apps listed on the store to use a 64-bit architecture.
