Morgan Stanley expected App Store quarterly revenue growth to surpass Apple’s 18% forecast after August net revenue grew 25.8% year on year. Ahead of the September 2019 launch event, it also anticipated three iPhones and possible new iPad Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro and Series 5 Apple Watch models.
Morgan Stanley said it expects Apple’s revenue this quarter from its app marketplace, the App Store, to grow substantially. It also predicted that, alongside new iPhones, Apple would unveil a 16-inch MacBook Pro and a new iPad Pro at its launch event next Tuesday (10 September).
Morgan Stanley analysts said Apple’s App Store is expected to record its largest monthly revenue growth since early 2015. Revenue for the quarter is also expected to exceed Apple’s forecast of 18% year-on-year growth.
In August this year, App Store net revenue grew by 25.8% year on year, up from 18.9% in July. This was the highest growth rate since February 2018 and the third-highest monthly year-on-year growth rate since early 2015.
Morgan Stanley also expected Apple to introduce three iPhone models at the following week’s launch event, with features including a new design with three rear cameras, an A13 processor, facial recognition from multiple angles and improved water resistance. Apple might also introduce a new iPad Pro, a 16-inch MacBook Pro and a new Series 5 Apple Watch。
